The service

Anima reads a book or a pasted text aloud and draws pictures as the words are read. These terms cover animaread.com. Questions go to jaihoon@animaread.com.

An account

You need an account to keep a library. You can create one with an email and a password, or with Google. You are responsible for activity on that account. By creating an account, you agree to these terms and the privacy policy.

Your books and text

You may upload an EPUB or paste text. You need the right to use that text with Anima. Anima does not claim ownership of your books. The text is stored so it can be read back to you, priced, and opened again. Do not upload a book or a passage you are not allowed to copy.

Credit

Twenty US dollars of reading credit is added each month while the subscription is active. Each chapter shows its price before you open it. Opening it takes that price from the balance once. A chapter you have already opened stays open. Tax may be added at checkout. Tax is not added to the credit.

After the first subscription, you can add more credit, from $1 to $100. If you cancel the $20 a month, the credit already on the account stays, and you can still add credit without starting the subscription again. Prices are in US dollars. Checkout may show your local currency.

No refunds

Anima does not offer refunds. The monthly $20 and any credit you add are final. Unused credit is not paid back. Canceling the subscription stops the next $20. It does not return money already paid. If a payment is reversed anyway, the reading credit on the account is set to zero.

Canceling

You can cancel the $20 a month from the account menu or the credit page. The next charge stops. Books, chapters, and pasted texts stay on the account. You can keep opening what you already paid for, and you can open more until the credit runs out.

Pictures and voice

Opening a chapter sends the text to be planned and read aloud, and sends a description of the moment to be drawn. The voice and the pictures are saved on your account so the chapter can be played again.

Using Anima

Do not interfere with the service, try to reach another person’s account, or use Anima to store or pass on text you have no right to use.

Changes

The service, these terms, and the price of future credit can change. The price shown before you open a chapter is the price charged for that chapter. When these terms change, the date at the top of this page changes with them.

Deleting an account

Deleting the account removes the login, the books, the chapters, the pictures, the voice, and the credit, and it cancels the subscription. This cannot be undone.
